Emergency Overview :
Copper slag is solid angular to sub-angular granules. It is not toxic material but a health hazard may occur due to the abrasion of this material. Proper safety equipment especially eye glasses, gloves and respiratory shield could decrease the risk of health hazard.
Potential Health Effects
Abrasion injuries possible if safety glasses are not worn. Contact lens use may be dangerous when handling this product.
Toxic effects will not occur.
Fine particulates (PM-10) in the form of dust during loading/unloading, processing and packaging.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
Follow good housekeeping practices to reduce airborne emissions. Use approved respiratory protection and clothing in abrasive blast environments.
Storage Precaution
Material should be placed on waterproof floor. Good housekeeping techniques such as vacuuming should be used to remove dust accumulations and to prevent the generation of airborne dust. Avoid the use of compressed air for removing settled dust, avoiding inhalation of dust and contact with eyes. Store the material in general dry storage, ambient air temperature and pressure. In accordance with preventing of pollution, any spillage should not be discharge into the environment. Symbol and emergency response equipments should be provided in accordance with applicable regulations.

Always practice good personal hygiene. Refrain from eating, drinking, or smoking in work areas. Thoroughly wash hands before eating, drinking, or smoking in appropriate, designated areas.

Companies that will transport copper slag must:
- Meet the Indonesian Government Regulation 101 of 2014 on Management of Hazardous and Toxic Waste.
- Have a Letter of Recommendation Transportation Hazardous and Toxic Waste from the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Indonesia.
- Having Operation Permit Certificate and Special Freight for Transporting Dangerous Goods from the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia.
