PT Smelting organized a Financial and Digital Marketing Training for eight assisted community groups in Sukomulyo Village, aiming to improve the capacity of local communities. This initiative is part of the company’s commitment to support community development so they can become more independent, while also ensuring their products have stronger competitiveness.
The eight assisted groups included farmer groups, waste banks, and creative entrepreneurs such as ecoprint artisans: PokTan Sang Vendis, PokTan Markisa Lestari, PokTan MEWAH, MRR Berseri, Bank Sampah SAMAWA, Bank Sampah Kawah Berlian, Rumah Kelola Sampah, and Ecoprint Damar Segaran.
The training was divided into three main sessions covering different topics, each presented by qualified experts from academia and professional, including:
- Basic Financial Recording, by Ms. Sri Dayati (Section Manager, Finance & Accounting, PT Smelting).
- Product Packaging & Branding, by Mr. Wahyu Kamal Setiawan, S.TP., M.Si., Ph.D. (Lecturer, Universitas Internasional Semen Indonesia).
- Marketing & Sales Strategy, by Mr. Andhika Eko Prasetyo, S.T., M.T. (Lecturer, Universitas Internasional Semen Indonesia).
It’s expected that three speakers can help assisted group to optimize financial management, improve product quality, and strengthen marketing strategies, particularly through digital platforms.
Ms. Lilik Kusmiatin, Secretary of Sukomulyo Village, expressed her appreciation for the program, stating: “This training is easy to understand and can be applied directly. The materials encourage MSMEs, farmer groups, and waste banks to grow further. We are grateful to PT Smelting for continuously guiding and supporting the people of Sukomulyo Village.”
Meanwhile, Bouman Tiroi Situmorang, Assistant Department Manager for Governmental/External Affairs at PT Smelting, reaffirmed the company’s commitment: “This activity involved all PT Smelting’s assisted groups in Sukomulyo Village, including farmer groups, waste bank members, and ecoprint communities. The training is expected to further enhance the capacity of assisted group members so they can continue to grow and progress.”
Through collaboration between the PT Smelting, village government, local communities and assisted groups, this program is seen as a concrete step towards creating independent, innovative, and sustainable villages.
