Launching New Lactation Room PT Smelting a Real Step to Support Working Mothers and a Healthy Generation

PT Smelting once again shows a strong commitment to employee well-being. On September 26, 2025, the company officially launched a new lactation room located in the cathode room (canteen) area. This facility is a concrete step to support the health of both mothers and children. 

The launching ceremony was attended by the Head of Gresik District Health Office, dr. Mukhibatul Khusnah, MM., M.Kes., she gave direct support to PT Smelting who has initiative to launch the new lactation room. She was warmly welcomed by director of PT Smelting, Ryuichi Hasegawa with the management team.  

The event was not only joined by PT Smelting employees but also by women from subcontractor companies. In total, around 60 participants were present, showing enthusiasm and appreciation for this new facility.  

In his speech, Ryuichi Hasegawa highlighted that PT Smelting always strives to provide the best facilities for its employees. The new lactation room is a reflection of the company’s care and respect for working mothers, who not only dedicate themselves at work but also carry great responsibilities at home with their family.

Meanwhile, dr. Mukhibatul Khusnah underlined the importance of company support for breastfeeding mothers. She mentioned that the lactation room is not just facility, but also a symbol of PT Smelting’s concern for the health of female employees and their children.

The new lactation room is well equipped with supporting facilities such as air conditioning, sofa, sinks, sterilizer, and power outlets in every booth. These features are designed to help mothers feel more relaxed, comfortable, and supported while caring for their babies’ need.

Through this initiative, PT Smelting hopes to inspire other companies to provide real support for their employees, especially working mothers. It may be a simple step, but one that creates a big impact in building a healthier, more supportive, and caring workplace. (GAN)
