PT Smelting always moves fast for the health of its employees, including in the matter of Covid-19 booster vaccine. PT Smelting has carried out the second booster vaccination on March 17-18, 2023.

This second booster vaccination event was carried out one year after the first booster vaccination in March last year. On the first day (March 17), 1,141 persons attended the vaccination event including employees of PT Smelting, employees of PT Smelting Management Gresik (SMG), employees of subcontractor, and local community. Meanwhile on the second day (March 18), 862 people attended this event. All of the attendees got Pfizer vaccine.

The second booster vaccination for the public is ruled in Circular Letter Number HK.02.02/C/380/2023 issued by the Ministry of Health concerning the Second Covid-19 Booster Vaccination for the Public. The booster vaccination event was held at the Wisma Smelting parking building.

Human Resources staff of PT Smelting, Sonny Wijaya said that this second booster vaccination was attended by employees of PT Smelting, employees of SMG, and employees of subcontractor with their families, as well as local community. This second booster vaccination activity is part of PT Smelting contribution in overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic that has hit the world since 2020.

 

Director for Commerce and Business Development of PT Smelting, Irjuniawan P. Radjamin (Wawan) added, the second booster vaccination for the community and employees aimed to increase immunity and create Herd Immunity for the community. This second booster is expected to accelerate the pandemic to become endemic.

“The aim is to increase immunity of the people to accelerate the process of moving from a pandemic to an endemic, so that people get immunity and are resistant to this Covid-19 pandemic,” Wawan said.

Wawan expressed his gratitude for the dedication of all officers, both medical and non-medical, for carrying out this activity. “We hope that all employees of PT Smelting, employees of SMG, and employees of subcontractors, as well as all people in Gresik Regency, are healthy and protected from the Covid-19 virus,” added Wawan.
